Tool Live @ Copps Coliseum, Hamilton

Last night I saw Tool live, it was my second time seeing them

Once again, I was blown away. Tool is without a doubt in my mind the most creative and unique band out there and my statement that Tool always sounds much, much better live then on their CD’s holds true for last night (And don’t get me wrong, their cd’s are amazing in themselves)

There was some downers to the show, which I will get over right now:

- The crowd around me wasn’t feeling it. For the latter part of the show they just sat around, went and got drinks, weren’t really into the music. I don’t really get annoyed by it but come on, you just spent $180 on tickets and you’re sitting? (The couple beside us spent that much, we only spent $55. Thank you eBay!)

- They didn’t do Ænema. I am not so annoyed by this because they do it ALL THE TIME and it’s good to switch things up.

Now, as for the good?

- Maynard wasn’t hiding for the entire show. He was kind of in the back, but he was still moving, he talked to the crowd a bit, it was great. He made us do a little yodel, and that made me very happy!

- Stinkfist, 46 & 2, Lateralus and Vicarious were my personal highlights of the show. All very well played, extended versions on Stinkfist/Lateralus, it was amazing. 46 & 2 always sound so much better live, I don’t know why but it really gets to me. Vicarious was an amazing ending to the show that turned my frown about Ænema upside down

- The sound was amazing. Maynard’s mic was a bit low compared to the instruments but it still worked and I was able to hear him and sing along just fine. The laser show during Wings for Marie was just as amazing

All in all, it was an amazing show. Tool is back in Hamilton on July 9th and I am so very tempted to buy some tickets for that show on eBay, but alas I don’t think I can afford it.
